Privacy Policy

Overview

Ambio ("we", "our", "the app") is a sleep environment optimization app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Health Data (HealthKit): With your permission, Ambio reads sleep stages, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and wrist temperature from Apple Health. This data is used solely to calculate your sleep score, generate insights, and optimize your smart home automations.

HomeKit Data: With your permission, Ambio discovers and controls smart home accessories in your home. Device names and states are used only for automation purposes.

Sleep Schedule: Your preferred bedtime and wake time are stored locally on your device.

Data Storage

All your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers, and your health data never leaves your device.

Sleep summaries may be shared with the widget extension via a shared App Group container, which remains on your device.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Third-Party Services

RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat processes purchase transactions through Apple's App Store. RevenueCat may receive an anonymous app user ID and purchase history. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Apple HealthKit: Health data access complies with Apple's HealthKit guidelines. Health data is never used for advertising and is not shared with third parties.

AI-Generated Reports

Weekly sleep reports are generated using Apple's on-device Foundation Models (where available) or template-based text generation. All processing happens locally on your device. No sleep data is sent to external AI services.

Children's Privacy

Ambio is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. You can delete all app data by uninstalling the app or clearing its data in Settings. You can revoke HealthKit and HomeKit permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
